Poetry: A Thinking Process
I often find inspiration in writing. It takes on a life and form of its own.I want to turn the lights off
See the outline of your sculpted jaw fade Faint shadows of muscular arms and legs Put up on the wall like a picture show Our bodies in motion, on display. Feel the heat of desire burn. Wax dripping down from licking flames Sweat beaded skin, mixed emotion Perspired from wrong devotions Take your breath, and give you mine. Sensations from lingering fingertips and tempting kisses Against naked necks and wanting spines Form two, one, us. Then we are fine. Until I can not. When a moment of clarity n the dark Brings on a new realization I must gasp for air, life Scream to lights flickering on. Stubbled cheeks against unwilling lips Poisoned thoughts against our moving hips. Look into eyes of lifeless grey Knowing that with temptation there’ll be pain. Stay still, I can say I will Thoughts far from what is wrong To justify this as right. Stay away from longing Stay away from light Stay away from two, one, us Even if I want it tonight. Although, I’ve not consented The dark will have its way. In light I’ve fought, I fought, But there’s no hope for day. |
Yellow lines greet burning golden rays,
And make love to pitch black on One of those hot summer days. Shoes slowly lift and imprint. The oozing black goes with’em Stuck again on rough cement. And I watch it, bubble there My bare feet in the wet grass What happens if…Do I dare? With grass stuck on, dirt stained Feet touch the edge, black and green. I’m not going to be ashamed. But that gurgling black sounds sweet, And it draws me in closer, closer, Despite the waves of burning heat. A toe leaves, green to black, The burning sensation doesn’t hurt Both feet leave and now I won’t turn back. The burning golden rays meet my body’s lines And pitch black makes love to reddening feet. To my knees I fall and my hands find relief In the oozing, bubbling, oh this heat. On my stomach I lay, face to the ground I can hear it make that fizzing sound! This is what I needed to finally feel awake To lay on the black-top as it bakes.
